West University Baptist Church

CityRise West U is a church dedicated to serving you, your community, and your family.  We want to make sure you have every opportunity to connect, so your first step is to come to a service, or contact us to get the info you need to join us when you are ready.

West U Baptist meets at 6218 Auden Street. Located in the heart of West University Place. Led by Campus Pastor Robby Dobbs, we invite you to join us for worship and Community Groups for children, students, and adults of all ages each Sunday morning. Our 8:30a worship service is full of the hymns that have shaped our faith for decades. At 11:00a, our band leads a time of worship with songs from today's most popular Christian worship artists. The same teaching pastor shares a powerful message at both of our morning services. When you arrive, make sure to visit our Welcome Desk located in the lobby just off of Milton Street.

Children from birth all the way up to 5th grade have a variety of ways to connect on Sunday mornings. At 8:30 and 11:00 am each Sunday, children in kindergarten-5th grade are invited to KidRally, a time of worship, games, and teaching located in the gym. At 9:45 am, our kids gather for age-appropriate Community Groups. Childcare is available all morning for children birth through pre-k.

On Sunday morning, you can start at the Welcome Desk just inside the Milton Street side doors and our team member there can point you in the right direction, or you can head to the nursery and children's Welcome Desk located just inside the glass doors on the Amherst Street side. Students from 6th through 12th grade gather at 9:45a on Sundays in the West U Student Building for worship, teaching, and fellowship. There, they can get connected at the student welcome desk in the front lobby, and one of our team members will make sure to get them connected into a grade-appropriate group.

West U Baptist has a long history of providing a place of worship, fellowship, teaching, and volunteer opportunities to college students. Our College Class is taught by Rice University professor Dr. James Tour, a chemist, nanotechnologist, and devout follower of Jesus, who has been teaching this class for over twenty years.

There is free bus pickup on Sundays at 9:30A in front of the Allen Center and a light breakfast at 9:45A.
Buses return by 12:30P, however, lunch is served for those who do not return to campus via bus.

On Sunday mornings at 9:45a, there is a variety of Community Groups created for adults in all stages of life. These gatherings vary in subject matter but all center on creating meaningful relationships between men, women, and couples in the same life season.
